These programs do not have staff to monitor or control behavior. If clients need assistance please have them bring a caregiver. Clients are allowed to come and go at will.
The Corte Madera Recreation Department has stepped in to save all the REC Inc programs. The city is taking on the unprecedented move of making these programs a part of their permanent programing line-up. None of this would be possible if not for the 22 agencies who have joined us in partnership and promised to get their interested clients to the below events.
3rd Friday Dance w/ Feeve Wells of Ebony Slam
Come dressed to theme or in anything you like! Sit and watch,or participate and the DJ’s will SPOTLIGHT YOU! :D

November- Día De Los Muertos – Celebrating our Mexican American and South American Culture
December – Holiday Dance! Santa will be there in a breakout room!
The Larkspur Champions Lions Club – Members of this special chapter of the international charitable organization act as officers and are the REC Inc Advisory Board. THEY RUN EVERYTHING!

Basketball For Winners
Be a member of the Seals. Everyone plays - we adapt the game to our players’ abilities. The Seals play community members, families, police & fire departments, community service groups, and celebrities like comedian Michael Pritchard.
Dates: Mondays, Winter: 1/27–3/9 (except 2/17), Spring: 3/23–5/11 (except 4/6), Fall: 9/7–11/2: Time: 6:35 - 8:00pm

World Beat Circle - Sharing & Music
Everything happens here! This class is an eclectic combination of what the group likes best, set to music from all over the world. With new instructor Steph Suess it’s a constantly evolving curriculum full of rhythmic happiness. It’s a circle of personal sharing, stretching, drums and other instruments.

3 Wacky Sports per night! SOOOOO much fun. FREE thanks to our coaches the fabulous Herz Family!!
We bought so many different types of sports gear! Come play:

Price: $50 initial fee to join & $35 for each 6 month membership. Free to visit.
3rd Friday Dance
This is an excellent opportunity to meet some new folks, catch up with friends, and have a great time. With the wild music of Ebony Slam by Feeve you’ll want to dance! Learn group dances like the Cha Cha Slide. A different theme every month!
Marin’s Best will provide Art Stations during the dance: February, April, June, July, September, & November!

Be Healthy!
Almost all our members have lost weight and are keeping it off! Dixie James leads with weekly charismatic, inspirational talks, workout challenges, and healthy food discussions. Lose weight with the support of friends. Learn about nutrition and getting fit.
Dates: Tuesdays – 1/28 – 2/25 3/17 – 4/14 5/5 – 6/2 6/23 – 7/21 8/18 – 9/15 10/6 – 11/10 (except 11/3)
Time: 4:30–6:00pm (includes a gentle movement section)

Price: $55.00 for each 11 week session, we will pro-rate and you can start a session at any time!
Party Night
Our young adults, 20s to 30s, need a chance to meet and socialize with their peers. This is it! New coordinator Steph Suess has made this the place to be. Each themed night includes a movie, photo booth, snack, and a craft. Dress to match each theme!

Where: Larkspur Rec Department Community Room, 240 Doherty Drive, Larkspur.
Price: $6 per party - Spots are limited so, once you RSVP you must pay for your spot even if you do not attend
Mall/Movie Night (Offered through the Champions Lions Club)
GREAT chance to socialize. Come to the Food Court at Northgate Mall to meet a gang of friends, see a movie (or not) and grab dinner at the food court or bring a bag dinner. This program has little supervision; you must be able to get your own dinner, sit through a movie, leave, and meet transportation without assistance.
Dates: 1st Fridays: March-Dec. (July TBA)
Time: Drop in any time between 4:00-7:30pm (people often arrive after 5:00 & all leave by 7:30pm)
Where: Northgate Food Court, tables near the wall across from Sbarro Pizza, 5800 Northgate Mall, San Rafael
Price: Prices are set by the theatres and restaurants.
